An intangible must-have

Believing in one self is much difficult than believing others. Most of us have a fear of failure, being judge by others or even being rejected. More often than not, young people have these fears. Acceptance is one thing we all want, isn't it? But how come you’ll be accepted if you, yourself can’t believe in yourself? Whether your lacking of the believe you are worthy of respect from others (self-esteem) or whether it’s the absence of believing in yourself (self-confidence); somehow this things held us back from pursuing what we really want to do. Self-confidence and self-esteem are two things that shouldn't be missing on our character. So, here are some points that probably (and hopefully) help you to add enough confidence level in you.

Be physically presentable. This means being beautiful in the way you’re comfortable with, not beautiful in a stereotype-society-dictates way. Dressing up sometimes makes a difference in the way we look at ourselves. The way we see ourselves in the mirror made up our self-image in our mind. Though dressing up doesn’t literally mean wearing a thousand worth of clothing but instead wear something that will reflect who you are. So, if you’re comfortable with wearing casual clothes, stick to it as long as your presentable then you’re still off to go.

Be positive. Changing the way we think can make great things happen. Stop having negative thoughts instead be optimistic. Learn to think positive in everything you do. But wishful thinking is not enough; you should also do some actions. For instance, if you are having a difficult time stop complaining, instead believe that you can and focus on how you could overcome it. Thinking positive and doing something goes hand-in-hand. Start acting in a positive way and soon you’ll notice a difference.

Take little steps. Achieving something big boosts up our confidence but little achievements also count. It’s not wrong to dream big but it’s wrong to push yourself to much just to achieve that huge goal of yours. A lot of us tend to shoot for the moon and when they fail, they get discouraged and back down. Instead you can set small goals that are achievable on your current situation. The more you achieve something, the more you will feel good about yourself. And it also prepares you on taking the risk on your big dream. Take little steps toward that goal and you will go far without even noticing it.

Be yourself. It is the most important thing out of all the things mentioned above. Feel good about yourself no matter what. If you really know who you are, you will not care when someone is putting you down. It is important to know one so others can know you. The way you look at yourself will surely reflect on how others will look at you.

Having enough level of self-confidence and self-esteem is essential for ones character. First, believe in yourself and the rest will follow.
